VALENTINE'S DAY - YOU HAVE A CARD !

Long long ago but not so long ago, there lived a girl..Nisha... in Chennai who did not know the world except her parents,friends and books.Nisha was a topper at the school and after having obtained a considerable good score in the 12th standard ,she got into the college of her dreams - A prestigious indtitution located in the North of India..Going by her looks, noone could tell if she was from the North of India or the South..She was pretty but did not dress so well. Nisha was unaware of her beauty and was in awe when she saw the other girls in the college who had well manicured nails,perfect eyebrows and some great wardrobes..

Nisha felt a lil low cos in her school she had been one of the girls whom some of the guys had a crush on. I must say that the dresses she carried with her to college werent that good. She came to that college with the clothes that were brought for her uncle's wedding when she was in 8th standard,her 15th birthday dress,her skirt which she got after seeing Kushboo's red dress in Mannan etc..But she did manage to get a couple of dresses in which she looked really good. Nisha looked good if she wanted to and the problem was that she never wanted to !!!! She was not a very out going person and hence had a few friends only.

Nisha used to talk only to her Wingies (people in the same wing as hers in the hostel)..Nisha being a very sweet girl, all the girls were sweet to her..And when she wore one of her BEST dresses, her wingies used to tease her soo much asking her whom she is dressed up for..Nisha used to blush and looked all the more prettier when she did that :-)

This was the girls first Valentine's day away from home in a college.. So, the girls were all excited and decided to get together for a chat..During the couse of discussions, one of them popped up a question
" Who do u think will get a Valentine's day proposal from our wing ???"
Everyone let their imgainations run and started guessing names..There were some teasings,some secrets revealed and after all that, the girls decide that whoever gets a Valentine's day card or a proposal has to treat the entire wing - 24 girls !!!!

Ok, Valentine's day arrived. Nisha was her usual self and dressed in Green - which was one of her BEST dresses..She looked good that day. She had her breakfast,wished some of her friends who were all girls, a Happy Valentine's day and set off to the college. All the way to the college, she looked at couples, some with cards,some with chocolates,come with teddy bears walking happily hand in hand...She smiled to herself and went to the college. She returned back to her hostel to have her lunch. She was with one of her best friends having the rotis that will take ages to chew and swallow, when she heard a scream from one of her wingiees..

NISHAAAAAAAAAA....

Nisha was taken aback.. She asked whats the matter. The wingie just asked Nisha to go to her room.

Nisha rushed to her room and guess what she saw on top of her neatly made bed ????!!!!A red color card which had her name and room number scribbled on it with a stamp at the top right corner rubber stamped from the local post office.With trembling hands and lots of excitement she opened the card....The card read

I was as cool as ice
A Glance at you.......Had put my heart on fire.

She could not make out who the sender was. But that card made her an instant bakra and she had to treat her friends for dinner..

All for a card which meant nothing to her, cos words said without an identity did not make any sense to her !
